Challenge 6: Why I aligned two remote teams by 5-day sprint
I extended the 5-day Sprint method based on Jake Knapp's work because it helped two remote teams run on the same weekly cycle without needing to be micro-managed.
Remote work was new for both teams, and without a shared structure, communication slowed and progress became hard to track. My team had already been running the Sprint method in our internal training, so I proposed bringing the same routine into Muaban's side – with Monday kick-offs and Friday outcome reports. Our PM and PO rolled it out across designers and stakeholders on both teams, giving everyone a fixed point to plan against on Monday and a fixed point to report against on Friday.
The 5-day Sprint became the shared operating week that carried both teams through the entire engagement.
