Challenge 8: What it took to earn leadership trust in UX
Expository communication is what helped UX prove its worth and be taken seriously at the leadership level.
Muaban's senior leadership had built a successful business on print over two decades, and the best way to earn their trust in UX and new product design was to respect their time with synthesis rather than a full walkthrough. So I opened every recommendation with an action-oriented conclusion, then laid out three supporting points, each grounded in behavioral design principles and how leading platforms had applied UX well, and closed by re-confirming the conclusion.
Data and insights drive execution from the bottom up, but the way you frame a conclusion is what earns a decision from the people who sign off on it.
